Figurative

An old photo from the late 90s was my inspiration for this painting. In many of my works I try to create the feeling that the figure is both indoors and outside. I love the colors in this painting and the notion that the rebellious “Riot GRRL” is a sweet-faced, pink-haired young woman. It made this piece fun to paint. (Riot GRRL was a women’s liberation movement from the 1990s).
