My daughter was so beautiful during her pregnancy. It’s not surprising that she would be the inspiration for a painting. I wanted to use a color scheme of reds, purples and blues for this work. As with many of my pieces, there is a feel of being both indoors and outside. The flowers and the butterflies suggest an exterior setting, but the background appears more like wallpaper in a room.
